About the Job
NIGHT SUPERVISOR | The Berry General Store

The Berry General Store is looking for an experienced hospitality leader to take ownership of our Friday and Saturday night restaurant service.

This is a casual role, specifically two nights a week, Friday and Saturday, 5pm till late.

About the role
You'll be the one in charge on the floor, responsible for how the night actually runs. That means opening and closing the venue, briefing the team before doors open, managing the pace of table turns, staying on top of pacing with the kitchen, ordering stock for service, handling any guest issues that come up, and reconciling takings at close. Our menu is Japanese/Asian inspired, paired with natural wine, cocktails and local beers, and our nights feature live music and DJs, so there's a lot happening at once and it needs someone who can hold it all together.

This isn't a role for someone looking to be told what to do, we want someone who can walk in, read the room, and run the shift with confidence.

What we're looking for:
  • Genuine supervisory or management experience in hospitality is essential, this role assumes you already know how to lead a team through service, not learn it on the job. You'll need to make quick calls under pressure, keep staff accountable, and be the calm, capable presence guests and staff both look to when things get busy.
  • RSA required.
  • Experience with cash handling and POS reconciliation preferred.

What we offer:
  • This role is casual and specifically two nights a week. If you're after something more substantial, we can build out additional daytime shifts on top of this to give you more hours.
  • Staff meals, drinks, and perks included.
  • Real autonomy over how our nights are run, and a genuine say in shaping this side of the business as it grows.

Hours and availability:
Friday and Saturday nights, 3pm till late (last call 10pm), required every week. Additional daytime availability welcomed if you want more hours, but not required for the role.

How to apply
Tell us about your hospitality management experience, how you approach running a busy service, and why this role suits you specifically.

So we know you've read this through, include the words "I love busy service" somewhere in your application.
